Service Requirements

Lake Catholic strives to educate the whole person intellectually, spiritually, and physically. As active members of a vibrant community, our students develop an awareness of their responsibility to use their gifts and talents for the greater good in our society. We are proud that, along with academic excellence, service is an integral part of the mission of Lake Catholic High School. Our Service Program instills and encourages a spirit of respect and compassion that prompts students to expand their willingness to serve. This 'attitude of service' provides our students with opportunities to fully live the Gospel message and to express their faith and education through action.

Freshmen - The Community Service Program is incorporated into the Freshman Religion Curriculum. Students will complete 10 hours of service throughout the school year.

Sophomores - 15 hours of service to a church completed by June 1. All forms to be turned in to Service Office.

Juniors - 15 hours of service to those in need completed by June 1. All forms to be turned in to Service Office.

Seniors - 10 hours of service to Lake Catholic completed March 1. All forms to be turned in to the Service Office.

All additional service hours performed will be added to the total service hours to be counted toward service awards. All hours must be turned in by March 1 of senior year to be considered for service awards at graduation.

Students who have not completed their service requirement for the previous school year will need to make up those hours this school year. Those students will be notified within the first few weeks of the school year.

All requirements must be met in order to graduate and participate in the graduation ceremony. Students may begin accumulating hours as of June 1 of their eighth grade year.
