2017 Alumni Basketball Tournament

Lake Catholic hosted the 2017 Alumni Basketball Tournament on Friday, March 31st and Saturday, April 1st. Over 100 alumni came to compete in the tournament with many family and friends to cheer them on! During the two-day tournament players and spectators enjoyed fine basketball, refreshments, and got a chance to see what is new and improved at Lake Catholic. The basketball games, concessions, and side-games were all possible due to the large amount of volunteers. Without them, the good times with old pals could not be possible. A big "THANKS" goes out to all of them!

The tournament was divided into two leagues and introduced a three-point contest. Unfortunately, we did not have enough female alumni to fill out a bracket. But, this will certainly to be a goal for 2018.

COMPETITIVE DIVISION
The competitive division crown was taken by a first-year team. The LC Legends made the sixth team, in as many years, to win the competition division of the tourney. This new team consisted of Conner Fitzgerald '16, Pat Fitzgerald '13, Marty Caja '16, Mark Banaweicz '13, Ryan Russel '13, and Chad Stalnaker '16.

RECREATION DIVISION
The recreation division of the tourney was won by the perennial contenders, The Old Timers. For the first time, The Old Timers were able to stave off the Forrowleymen for the championship. This team of champions had Jeff Duricky '88, Dave Duricky '90, Steve Duricky '84, Mark Duricky '93, James Kavulich '98, Pat Latkovich '93, and Scott O'Donnell '93 to round out the roster.

THREE-POINT CONTEST
For the first time, the tournament hosted a three-point contest. Approximately, 30 sharp shooters competed to see who is the king of the arc. Each competitor shot five shots from four spots in an effort to make it to the final round and emerging to the top was Vince Pinzone '12.

Congrats to all the champions!
